Skin Hydration

Working out can cause chafing in your skin. Enjoying a sweat inducing workout can result in your skin becoming dry and proper hydration of your skin is important in avoiding this discomfort.

The number one way to keep your skin hydrated is to drink enough water. Water keeps your entire body hydrated and can help your energy rebound after a workout. If you are drinking enough water and still notice dry skin, you may need a topical solution. Petroleum jelly can be applied to the skin in order to trap your moisture in and let it really penetrate your skin.

Vitamin E, while oily, is a great way to keep your skin moisturized and prevent dry flakes. Other natural remedies include mineral oil, avocados and macadamia oils. Over the counter moisturizers also work in moisturizing your skin and keeping you comfortable.

It is important to remember to apply the topical moisturizers to clean skin only. Applying these heavy ointments to skin that has dirt and oil in the pores may cause rashes and pimples. Make sure to wash and dry thoroughly before applying the topical solutions and exfoliate occasionally to rid yourself of dead skin.
