More Anti-Aging Foods

The best anti-aging foods work by reducing the amount of free radicals and inflammation in the body. By incorporating these foods into your diet, you can reduce your risk for disease and chronic pain and improve your overall mood and and mental agility.

Seafood with Omega-3

Seafood contains an essential fatty acid called omega-3, which your body needs to function properly but doesn't produce on its own. Omega-3 fatty acids help to fight chronic inflammation. In addition, new research suggests that omega-3 fats can positively affect the brain and improve your mood and attitude.

Salmon and tuna contain the omega-3s with the most potent anti-inflammatory effects, but you should also try to consume omega-3 fats from plant sources like walnuts and flaxseed.

Whole Grains
Whole grain is great for weight loss because it's high in appetite-busting fiber. But whole grains have also been shown to protect against diabetes, heart disease, stroke, colon cancer, high blood pressure, and gum disease. Whole grains can be found in whole wheat, oats, and brown rice, as well as in breads and cereals made from these ingredients. Always choose whole grains over products made with bleached, processed, or "white" flour.

Red Wine
Yes, red wine can actually be good for you. Red wine contains resveratrol, an antioxidant that helps fight inflammation and protect your arteries. High amounts of resveratrol may also counteract cell death in the heart and brain, which could actually help you live longer. Of course, a little wine goes a long way-you should limit your intake to one 5-ounce glass a day for optimal health.

Incorporating these anti-aging foods into a balanced diet can help you look and feel better for longer.
